Get to Know Our Teacher Assistant of the Year, Mrs. Paula Fulbright!

Mrs. Paula Fulbright has been in education for 24 years, all at Banoak. She has served Banoak in the cafeteria, as a custodian, as an EC teacher assistant, and as a regular ed teacher assistant.  She has also been a bus driver for 19 years.  Over her career, she has worked with every grade level at Banoak. She is a graduate of Catawba Valley Community College with an Associate in Arts degree.

Mrs. Fulbright came to Banoak when her previous employment closed and while her children were students at Banoak. She says that she soon found that this move “set the stage for me to grow as a person and in my job and to help not only my children but other children as well.”

Mrs. Fulbright says of being the Teacher Assistant of the Year that “Being the Teacher Assistant of the Year means that I have given my all to my job and that it doesn’t go unrecognized.” She also feels that children are the first priority and that teacher assistants have to be flexible and wear many hats at any given moment.

Mrs. Fulbright attends Palm Tree United Methodist Church. She has been married for 37 years and has two children and three grandchildren. She loves to read, spend time with her family, spoil her grandchildren, pottery, crocheting, traveling and exploring, and gardening. She has also been a volunteer for Hospice (Carolina Caring) for almost 1y years.

Congratulations to Mrs. Paula Fulbright, the 2020-2021 Banoak Teacher Assistant of the Year! Thank you for your dedication to Banoak and all that you do for our Chargers!
